The Cook

The climate of the Adelaide Hills is considered Mediterranean, with the majority of the rain falling in the winter months. Although ripening tomatoes can be a challenge the choice of fresh fruit and vegetables closely mimic the produce Penny experienced on her holidays in Italy as a child. From Elizabeth David to Yotam Ottolenghi Penny has always felt most at home cooking Mediterranean food.

Her tasting plates represent a balance of three dishes served with fresh bread, often featuring fresh pasta. The tasting plate changes regularly, and on busy weekends there will be ‘little plates to tempt, stuffed olives, and a Moroccan snack featuring Hills soft boiled eggs are examples.

There are usually gluten free and vegetarian options, but it is wise to warn the kitchen first.
